With the backdrop of the pandemic ripping open the curtain of the many inequities in this country, the Black Lives Matter protestors keep marching daily for justice. Solving these complicated civil rights issues requires bold action. What is our role? What can we do as individuals and organizations?
Earlier in October, as part of the APSE Pacific Northwest Employment Forum, Tara Asai (former Oregon APSE President) opened a powerful panel discussion on "Equity and Justice: The Power of Language and Personal Actions." National APSE is grateful for permission to share this important content with our full network via our Podcast.

We are also grateful to and thrilled that panelists and national leaders Chisa O'Quinn, Amber Boydston, and Wesley Anderson (National APSE Board Member) have agreed to continue the conversation with us! This is particularly timely as we approach Election Day 2020.
America has always had an "opt-in" relationship when it comes to discussing race. This often leads to the topic being avoided; or to well-intentioned organizations creating "special projects", while seeing little to no cultural transformation.
On November 3rd we will decide the future of our nation. We must also decide how best to better ourselves, our organizations, and our communities. As we have always done at APSE, will do it by listening, learning, and leading.
Join us for a much-needed conversation on race: the often invisible barriers that undermine allyship, its impact on our advocacy, and ways we can model the inclusive country we want to see.
