APSE Awards the Torch Award

Employment First has a long history and when we examine that history we see the distinct and incredible stories of individuals with disabilities, their families, their allies, and the remarkable work that they accomplished alongside the collaborative service providers, the pioneer researchers, and the bold policymakers.
The Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) would not exist but for the dedication and hard work of our forebearers. Without them, we would not have the clarity of vision, the strength of values, and the drive of change-makers. And so, we owe them a debt of gratitude.
The APSE Torch Award carries the full weight and history of the Employment First movement. It is an award that recognizes the lifetime accomplishments of an individual, an award that isn't given on an annual basis, rather only when warranted.
This year, APSE is honored and humbled in recognizing the contributions of our winner, Bob Lawhead.
Bob was announced during the 2020 APSE Virtual Conference as the APSE Torch Award Winner.
