The second announced APSE Virtual Conference keynote presenter is...

Jim Warne

Jim will focus on the intersection of Native American experience, disability, and poverty.
He shares models for success through experience in collegiate and professional football, motivational speaking, as a college educator, and entrepreneur. 

Jim has acted in TV shows and feature films, as well as producing and writing documentary films.

Jim Warne is the Founder and President of Warrior Society Development, LLC. Jim incorporates traditional Warrior Society Philosophies in his daily life. Jim is a member of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) Nation.

Currently, Jim is the Community Engagement Director at the University of South Dakota (USD) Center for Disabilities (UCEDD), Oyate` Circle at Sanford School of Medicine. He is also an Instructor for USD Pediatrics. Jim wrote several grants for the University of South Dakota to establish the Oyate`Circle that focuses on Native disability and includes partnerships with various state/federal agencies, universities, and organizations. Jim is also working to develop a Native Center with the Arizona Sonoran Center UCEDD to work with the 21 Tribal Nations in Arizona.

Jim has devoted his professional life to improving quality of life and opportunities for underserved populations, with a focus on Indian country. He previously developed programs at San Diego State University to aid tribal professionals interested in serving their tribes with improved opportunities for members with disabilities.
