Meet Briana (Maryland)!
My name is Briana Stewart. I work as a Data Entry Technician at Kennedy Krieger at the Ashland Campus. I use to enter information into spreadsheet and beneficiary info for employees. Now, when employees are applying for a car or a house, I verify that they work here and their salary. The salary is the most important and then their position. I give their pay stubs to who needs them and how much they make per year. I also do education forms which means I enter information regarding employees' education and what degree they got and the major.
What has been most HELPFUL for finding or keeping a job in the community?:
Having people that understand my specific needs. My supervisor also helped when she referred me to this position
What has been a CHALLENGE in finding or keeping a job in the community?:
My mental health was a challenge because sometimes it's hard to get myself here even though I know it's good for me to be here. Getting the motivation is hard.
Tell us in a few words or sentences why Employment First matters to you! Why do you work toward people with disabilities working? # Real Work for Real Pay?:
It's important because its to help show the world that just because somebody has a disability doesn’t mean that they can't hold down a job position.
