State Employment First Efforts: Directive / Executive Order
- DC E1 policy: The District of Columbia’s Department of Disability Services issued a cross-disability policy in November 2014.
- DC Mayoral Proclamation on E1: A Mayoral Proclamation was issued in October 2012, declaring the District of Columbia as an Employment First state. The Department of Disability Services website provides updates on E1 efforts.
- DC P&A Employment Report: University Legal Services, the Protection and Advocacy program for the District of Columbia, released The Work Option for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities: The Obstacles and the Possibilities. A copy of the original 2012 Mayoral Proclamation is included in the appendix.
