State Employment First Efforts:

• Georgia Employment Needs Assessment Report (2023): Conducted by the Research and Evaluation Unit of the Institute on Human Development and Disability at the University of Georgia.
• HB 831 – Georgia’s Employment First Act (2018 – enacted), Established a cross disability E1 policy and E1 Council to oversee implementation.
• HR 642 Legislative Report (2015): Georgia legislature 2015 report on employment of individuals with IDD recommending creation of an Employment First Advisory Council.
• HR 642 – Establishing a Study Committee (2015 – enacted): Established a House Committee to examine options for an E1 policy in Georgia.
• GA DD Council Statement (2010): Statement issued by Georgia Developmental Disabilities Council calling for an Employment First policy.
