In celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, join us for a FREE webinar to all! This informal session will discuss the past, present, and future of employment and the disability industrial complex. We will highlight the creation of “the minimum, subminimum wage” in 1986, the scathing testimonies in 1994, the millions spent to fight the Fair Wages for Workers with Disabilities Act in 2012, and other dispiriting milestones related to subminimum wages. We will discuss and analyze HR 2373, the Transformation to Competitive Integrated Employment Act, from this foundational platform. Finally, we will consider evidence-based disability and employment ethics practices. Visit www.abolish14c.com for podcasts, papers, and a book discussion guide. The author's bio can be found here: abolish14c.com
