Meet Jennifer (Washington)!

“Having people with different perspectives, leads to better problem solving and decision making as an organization.”

Jennifer works for Costco in Issaquah as a Facilities Supervisor and has done so since 2004. She handles many of the custodial and recycling duties on the headquarters campus.

Costco was one of the many essential businesses that stayed open at the onset of the pandemic. They went through an entire revamp of their cleaning protocols which were swift and ever-changing at first. Jennifer did an amazing job of handling it all and managing the facilities. Costco also saw a dramatic increase in its shoppers at the beginning of the pandemic which meant more of her general duties.

“The incredible businesses that make up our community and the support of my Employment Consultant and family” has been most helpful in finding and keeping jobs in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

AtWork! supports individuals with disabilities to find and maintain careers. They know that hiring and employing people with disabilities brings a powerful diversity to your team. Having people with different perspectives leads to better problem solving and decision making as an organization. Having people with disabilities on your team also strengthens inclusion and accessibility practices at your company.

This was a vital part of our shift as a society during the pandemic. It also builds a greater sense of community, ensuring higher employee engagement and employees that feel accepted, valued, and empowered.
