APSE statement on Neil Romano appointment to chair National Council on Disability

Washington, DC (March 8, 2018) — Jenny Stonemeier, Interim Executive Director of Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE), made the following statement in reaction to the news of President Trump’s appointment of Neil Romano as the new Chairman of the National Council on Disability.
“APSE is pleased with and encouraged by the appointment of Mr. Romano to chair the National Council on Disability. Neil has been, and continues to be, a tireless advocate working to find solutions with the goal of full inclusion of and equality for all people with disabilities, including in the workplace. Neil understands that as a country we need to build on hard-fought-for advancements for people with disabilities. He will now have the opportunity to work with policymakers to carry out this goal.”
The Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) is the only national membership organization focused exclusively on integrated employment. Through advocacy and education, APSE advances employment and self-sufficiency for all people with disabilities.
